The second season of Molodezhka starts strong

Moscow, November 26 - CTC Media Inc. (“CTC Media,” “CTC” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ:CTCM), a leading Russian independent media company, today announced that it has taken the lead among the target demographic of viewers aged 10-45 in the 9:00 – 10:00 pm primetime slot due to the popularity of the second season of its hit series Molodezhka. CTC had an average viewership share of 17.7% during the premiere week of the second season, which was significantly higher than the channel’s average audience share.

Proposed amendments to russian mass media law pass readings in Russian Parliament

(“CTC Media” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: CTCM), Russia’s leading independent media company, notes that the proposed amendments to the Russian law “On Mass Media” passed their second and third readings in the lower house of the Russian parliament (the State Duma) on Friday September 26, 2014, with only minor changes to the initially proposed drafts. The amendments, which would impose further restrictions on foreign ownership of mass media (including television broadcasters) in Russia, now progress to a reading in the upper house (the Federation Council) and, if approved, for Presidential signature.

CTC Media appoints new Co-Chairman and new Director

Moscow, Russia September 25, 2014 – CTC Media, Inc. (“CTC Media” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: CTCM), Russia’s leading independent media company, today announced that existing Board member Jørgen Madsen Lindemann has been elected to serve as Co-Chairman of the CTC Media Board of Directors in place of Lorenzo Grabau. The Company also announced that Mathias Hermansson, 41, has been appointed as a member of the CTC Media Board in place of Mr. Grabau. Mr. Hermansson has been the Chief Financial Officer of Modern Times Group MTG AB since March 2006, and is responsible for MTG’s finances, strategy, corporate finance and legal affairs. Mr. Hermansson had previously served as a member of the CTC Media Board of Directors between December 2009 and April 2013.

Proposed amendments to Russian mass media law
Moscow, Russia September 25, 2014 – CTC Media, Inc. (“CTC Media” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: CTCM), Russia’s leading independent media company, has noted the proposed amendments to the Russian law “On Mass Media” that passed the first reading on September 23, 2014 in the lower house of the Russian Parliament, the State Duma. The Company notes that the proposed law, if enacted in its current form, would limit direct or indirect foreign ownership of Russian mass media businesses, and applies to both existing and future foreign ownership interests. The law would come into force on January 1, 2016, by which time, according to the existing version of the proposed amendments, each Russian mass media entity, including television broadcasters, would have to comply with the requirement that non-Russian entities and individuals in the aggregate beneficially own no more than 20% of the relevant mass media entity. Russian entities and individuals that beneficially own more than 20% of Russian mass media businesses through off-shore holding structures will have an additional year until January 2017 in which to restructure such foreign holding structures. The proposed amendments are subject to a further two readings in the Lower House and then Federation Council and Russian Federation President confirmation. The second reading is scheduled for Friday September 26, 2014.
